Preamble: Fabio Luisi

1. Int. Mozart Competition Berlin

“Three Generations Mozart” signifies to think about personalities who dedicated entirely their lives and their genius talent for music….remaining and everlasting for hundreds of years. That shows us once more: art is not dependent of time, and specially music, and we can, we should-recognizing this- develop a new deeper perspective within our love for music.
Competitions can smooth the way for young artists in order to show - by professional pursuance of their abilities - making the efforts of career easier, that is well known and important:…and if all this appears under the name of the “Mozart´s”, then we see a sign of high understanding and love for those important facts, what is essential and imperative in music: humility and depth.

Preamble: Roland Pröll

1. Int. Mozart Competition Berlin

Similar to the unique family of J.S.Bach with his many creative sons, musicians, composers – we look at Mozart`s family. The promotional support of father Leopold for Wolfgang Amadeus and the influence of the “millennium genius” to his son Wolfgang Amadeus Franz Xaver Mozart, this development within three generations form an impression of a special artistic unity during that era.

The musical language, the sound colors, the micro rubato, the elegance, the dancing element, the phenomenon of opera and theatrical contents, the subtle art of articulation, the intelligent dramaturgy within the musical phrases….to reach those extremely difficult artistic heights in order to demonstrate all these necessities to us, to the auditors ….we invite the young gifted musicians all over the world enjoying actively with us - by means of “comparing togetherness”, of fair competing – the colors, the odor, the sound….the artistic fascination, still in our time, 226 years after the death of Mozart (1791).
